Labs make excellent family dogs and will steal your heart. Labrador Retrievers are often used as guide dogs. They have a double coat that will shed once or twice a year. A Labrador Retriever walked into the studio when Led Zeppelin was recording an album. They named the song “Black Dog” after that Lab. There are English Labs and American Labs, which are basically the same dog with different body types. In 1938, Life magazine featured a black Labrador Retriever on its cover.
